Let’s just focus on the good today, shall we? :-)
It works for me (especially since I’ve been a little grouchy lately. So some positive refocusing will do me some good, and maybe you too.).
1. Old Fall Photos
This picture of the children is from two falls ago — they’ve changed so much! (And did that soccer ball hit me in the face about one second after I snapped this photo?)
2. Children Reading
It took a friendly nudge (parent/teacher conference), but once he started, he was on a roll.
3. Father and Daughter
They went to dinner and then strolled around some outdoor shops. A good time was had by all.
4. An Old Time Radio Play
I have no shame about this. I forced graciously invited my family to attend a vintage radio play featuring three Hitchcock dramas — The Lodger, Sabatoge, and The 39 Steps.
After their initial hesitation, they loved it and I was in heaven. It fulfilled my wish of going back to the Forties for a production of the Lux Radio Theater.
And, now I think I can get all three of them to watch The 39 Steps this weekend…
5. The Harvest Dance
I helped decorate for my daughter’s fall dance at school. Talk about nostalgia…
And talk about the candy bar…
6. Enduring Marriages
I recently met this wonderful couple (he’s much happier in person!),visiting my great-aunt, who have been married 58 years! When I told my husband he said he had just met a couple at work who’d been married 72 years!
7. Vintage Wrapping Paper
(I have samples of more vintage wrapping paper on my Vintage Fashion page.)
8. Traffic-Friendly Construction Zones
9. True Value
Ann Voskamp reminds us that true value, especially for our daughters, is not found in comparing.
10. A Good Book on My Nightstand
This girl (the author of A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet) can write, and she is funny with a Southern twist.
So there you have it. 10 more things I love to see.
Here’s wishing you a weekend filled with what you love.
